Your Questions Answered!

Is the Graduation Committee part of LBHS?
No, the Graduation Committee is an independent, self-funded group organized by senior parents and is not affiliated with LBHS or ASB, just like in previous years.

Who handles the graduation ceremony and official graduation questions?
LBHS organizes the graduation ceremony. All questions about graduation should be directed to LBHS at (949) 497-7750. The Graduation Committee only runs the 9 events listed above.

Is there a graduation party after the ceremony on June 12?
No, there won’t be a grad party after the ceremony. But don’t worry—we’ve created something even better!  Based on feedback from past seniors, many wanted a unique and exciting experience instead of another party that felt like a repeat of previous high school events or dances. Families also expressed wanting time to celebrate with their graduates after the ceremony, especially those traveling from out of town. That’s why we introduced the Senior Celebration—a high-energy, one-of-a-kind event before graduation, designed to be the ultimate send-off with unforgettable experiences! Graduation itself will serve as the grand finale of your high school journey. We know this is a change, but we truly believe it’s a fun and exciting upgrade to senior week!

Why is the Senior Celebration a secret?
The Senior Celebration is more than just an event—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience designed to surprise and thrill our senior class! Keeping the details under wraps adds to the excitement, building anticipation for a night unlike any other. This is a unique opportunity, available only to seniors and only offered on this exclusive date at our special venue. The event is carefully crafted to be completely different from anything done before, making it a truly unforgettable way to close out your high school journey. Get ready for an incredible surprise—you won’t want to miss it! More information on what to bring and wear are coming.

Can a senior attend grad week events if they haven’t paid?
The $385 covers all the week’s events like food, venue fees, city permits for the parade, paddle out, and yearbook signing, bus costs to/from senior celebration, graduation leis for every senior, and much more. We need 100% participation.
For individuals facing financial difficulties, please reach out to Melissa Palino <mpalino@lbusd.org>.
